Meet Lilibeth

A first-generation Mexican American writer who drives a camper van instead of a car, makes poor financial decisions, and has an insatiable need to both write and travel. From English teacher to budget backpacker to graduate student on the move. I am not so much interested in itineraries, though you may find a couple here, but is more about essay style field notes. 

I first left the US to teach in Thailand for eight months, spent a month in Vietnam with less than $800, contracted a mosquito-borne illness in Nicaragua, almost died on a volcano in Guatemala, and backpacked Mexico for three months while being a remote graduate student. 

This blog is basically a creative outlet to write about the intersection of people and place, but I am also trying to build something to give back to the places that have given me so much. Come along for the ride and welcome to Elsewhere Letters!
